1963 Pontiac Bonneville Ambulance was JFK's ambulance after fatal shooting
According to records only 69 Pontiac Bonneville ambulance were built and 15 commissioned for military use, this particular example was assigned to Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington DC.
It was sent to collect the casket of John F Kennedy from Andrews Air Force Base and bring it to Bethesda before sending it to Capitol Hill to be laid in state. Gallery after the jump
The ambulance was later sold as surplus and was bought by current owner who restored it to immaculate original condition. It has won many awards and even lauded with a gold award at the 2010 National Convention of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association.
It is now up for sale at the Barret-Jackson Scottsdale event later this month
